Mr. Simon is also a securities and banking lawyer and law professor. He firmly supports investment in California’s utility infrastructure as being critical to California’s economic future and is active in the National Association of Regulatory Utility. Prior to joining the CPUC, Commissioner Simon was an appointment secretary to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also serves on several non-profit boards including Catholic Charities/CYO of the San Francisco Bay Area, the Megan Furth Academy, Junior Achievement and California ALL (Aspire-Learn-Lead). Currently, he is an adjunct professor of Securities Regulations at Golden Gate University School of Law, as well as an advisor on international securities in the U.S. Legal Studies Program.
